Luke 4:11-13

¹¹they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’^[a]”^(A)

¹²Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’^[b]”^(B)

¹³When the devil had finished all this tempting,^(C) he left him^(D) until an opportune time.

Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”

¹²And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ^(B)‘You shall not ^[a]tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
