²⁶ Then God said, “Let ^(A)Us make ^(B)man in Our image, according to Our likeness, so that they will have ^(C)dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the ^[a]sky and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” ²⁷ And God created man ^(D)in His own image, in the image of God He created him; ^(E)male and female He created them. ²⁸ God blessed them, and God said to them, “^(F)Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the ^[b]sky and over every living thing that creeps on the earth.”

The Generations of Adam

5 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him ^(A)in the likeness of God. ² He created them ^(B)male and female, and He ^(C)blessed them and named them ^[a]Man in the day when they were created.

²⁶ and ^(A)He made from one man every nation of mankind to inhabit all the face of the earth, having ^(B)determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, ²⁷ that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, ^(C)though He is not far from each one of us; ²⁸ for ^(D)in Him we live and move and ^[a]exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His offspring.’
