²¹Now when all the people were baptized, and when ^(A)Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, ^(B)the heavens were opened, ²²and ^(C)the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and ^(D)a voice came from heaven, ^(E)“You are my beloved Son;^[a] with you I am well pleased.”^[b]

    and that in ^(F)faithfulness you have afflicted me.
⁷⁶Let your steadfast love comfort me
    according to your promise to your servant.
⁷⁷Let your ^(G)mercy come to me, that I may live;
    for your law is my ^(H)delight.
⁷⁸Let ^(I)the insolent be put to ^(J)shame,
    because they have ^(K)wronged me with falsehood;
    as for me, I will ^(L)meditate on your precepts.
