Anna’s Testimony

36 There was also a prophetess,(A) Anna, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.(B) She was well along in years, having lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,[a](C) 37 and was a widow for eighty-four years.[b] She did not leave the temple, serving God night and day with fasting and prayers.(D) 38 At that very moment,[c] she came up and began to thank God and to speak about him to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.[d](E)

She never left the temple but worshiped there with fasting and prayer night and day.(B) 38 At that moment she came and began to praise God and to speak about the child[a] to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.(C)
