⁴⁶ and said to them, “Thus ^(A)it is written, ^(B)that the Christ should suffer and on the third day ^(C)rise from the dead, ⁴⁷ and that ^(D)repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed ^(E)in his name ^(F)to all nations, ^(G)beginning from Jerusalem. ^48 (H)You are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And behold, I am sending ^(I)the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you ^(J)are clothed with ^(K)power ^(L)from on high.”

⁴ And while staying^[a] with them ^(A)he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; ⁵ for ^(B)John baptized with water, ^(C)but you will be baptized ^(D)with^[b] the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

⁸ But you will receive ^(A)power ^(B)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and ^(C)you will be ^(D)my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and ^(E)Samaria, and ^(F)to the end of the earth.”
