^20 (A)and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him.

²⁷ For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, ^(A)because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him. ^28 (B)And though they found no cause for death in Him, they asked Pilate that He should be put to death. ^29 (C)Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, ^(D)they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.

^8 (A)Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: ⁹ If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, ¹⁰ let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, ^(B)that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, ^(C)whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.

^13 (A)The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, ^(B)glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you ^(C)delivered up and ^(D)denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. ¹⁴ But you denied ^(E)the Holy One ^(F)and the Just, and ^(G)asked for a murderer to be granted to you, ¹⁵ and killed the ^[a]Prince of life, ^(H)whom God raised from the dead, ^(I)of which we are witnesses.

Taking the Place of Barabbas^(A)

^13 (B)Then Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,

^20 (A)But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.

^30 (A)The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by ^(B)hanging on a tree. ^31 (C)Him God has exalted to His right hand to be ^(D)Prince and ^(E)Savior, ^(F)to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

²⁷ “For ^(A)truly against ^(B)Your holy Servant Jesus, ^(C)whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together ^28 (D)to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.

Jesus Faces the Sanhedrin^(A)

^66 (B)As soon as it was day, ^(C)the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, came together and led Him into their council, saying, ^67 (D)“If You are the Christ, tell us.”

But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will ^(E)by no means believe. ⁶⁸ And if I ^[a]also ask you, you will by no means answer ^[b]Me or let Me go. ^69 (F)Hereafter the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power of God.”

⁷⁰ Then they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?”

So He said to them, ^(G)“You rightly say that I am.”

^71 (H)And they said, “What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.”

Jesus Handed Over to Pontius Pilate^(I)

23 Then ^(J)the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to ^(K)Pilate. ² And they began to ^(L)accuse Him, saying, “We found this fellow ^(M)perverting ^[c]the nation, and ^(N)forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying ^(O)that He Himself is Christ, a King.”

^3 (P)Then Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

He answered him and said, “It is as you say.”

⁴ So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, ^(Q)“I find no fault in this Man.”

⁵ But they were the more fierce, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from ^(R)Galilee to this place.”
