³³ And ^(A)when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.

^22 (A)And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull. ^23 (B)Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it.

The King on a Cross^(A)

^17 (B)And He, bearing His cross, ^(C)went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, ¹⁸ where they crucified Him, and ^(D)two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center.

^24 (A)who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, ^(B)that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—^(C)by whose ^[a]stripes you were healed.

^32 (A)that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, ^(B)signifying by what death He would die.

^33 (A)And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, ^34 (B)they gave Him ^[a]sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.

Mourning for the Pierced One

^10 (A)“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will ^(B)look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him ^(C)as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

^23 (A)his body shall not remain overnight on the tree, but you shall surely bury him that day, so that ^(B)you do not defile the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance; for ^(C)he who is hanged is accursed of God.

¹² Therefore Jesus also, that He might ^[a]sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. ¹³ Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing ^(A)His reproach.
