³ So Pilate asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And He answered him and said, “^(A)It is as you say.”

¹² As a result of this Pilate ^[a]made efforts to release Him, but the Jews cried out saying, “^(A)If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself out to be a king ^[b]opposes Caesar.”
