Luke 23:20-25
New American Standard Bible
20 But Pilate, wanting to release Jesus, addressed them again, 21 but they kept on crying out, saying, “Crucify, crucify Him!” 22 And he said to them a third time, “Why, what has this Man done wrong? I have found [a]in His case no grounds for a sentence of death; therefore I will [b](A)punish Him and release Him.” 23 But they were insistent, with loud voices, demanding that He be crucified. And their voices began to prevail. 24 And so Pilate decided to have their demand carried out. 25 And he released the man for whom they were asking, who had been thrown into prison for a revolt and murder; but he handed Jesus over to their will.

Acts 2:23-36
New American Standard Bible
23 this Man, delivered over by the (A)predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, (B)you nailed to a cross by the hands of [a]godless men and put Him to death. 24 [b]But (C)God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the [c]agony of death, since it (D)was impossible for Him to be held [d]in its power. 25 For David says of Him,
‘(E)I saw the Lord continually before me,
Because He is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue was overjoyed;
Moreover my flesh also will live in hope;
27 For You will not abandon my soul to (F)Hades,
(G)Nor will You [e]allow Your [f]Holy One to [g]undergo decay.
28 You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of gladness with Your presence.’
29 “[h]Brothers, I may confidently say to you regarding the (H)patriarch David that he both (I)died and (J)was buried, and (K)his tomb is [i]with us to this day. 30 So because he was (L)a prophet and knew that (M)God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one [j]of his descendants on his throne, 31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the [k]Christ, that (N)He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh [l]suffer decay. 32 It is this Jesus whom (O)God raised up, [m]a fact to which we are all (P)witnesses. 33 Therefore, [n]since He has been exalted [o](Q)at the right hand of God, and (R)has received (S)the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has (T)poured out this which you both see and hear. 34 For it was not David who ascended into [p]heaven, but he himself says:
‘(U)The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
35 Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’
36 Therefore let all the (V)house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both (W)Lord and [q]Christ—this Jesus (X)whom you crucified.”
