20 Truly, truly, I say to you, (A)you will weep and lament, but (B)the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but (C)your sorrow will turn into joy. 21 (D)When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 (E)So also you have sorrow now, but (F)I will see you again, and (G)your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

9 And (A)the great dragon was thrown down, (B)that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, (C)the deceiver of the whole world—(D)he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now (E)the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers[a] has been thrown down, (F)who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And (G)they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for (H)they loved not their lives (I)even unto death. 12 Therefore, (J)rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But (K)woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because (L)he knows that his time is short!”

3 And even (A)if our gospel is veiled, (B)it is veiled to (C)those who are perishing. 4 In their case (D)the god of this world (E)has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing (F)the light of (G)the gospel of the glory of Christ, (H)who is the image of God. 5 For what (I)we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with (J)ourselves as your servants[a] for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who said, (K)“Let light shine out of darkness,” (L)has shone in our hearts to give (M)the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The Death of Samson
23 Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to (B)Dagon their god and to rejoice, and they said, “Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.” 24 And when the people saw him, (C)they praised their god. For they said, “Our god has given our enemy into our hand, the ravager of our country, who has killed many of us.”[a] 25 And (D)when their hearts were merry, they said, “Call Samson, that he may entertain us.” So they called Samson out of the prison, and he entertained them. They made him stand between the pillars. 26 And Samson said to the young man who held him by the hand, “Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean against them.” 27 Now the house was full of men and women. All the lords of the Philistines were there, and (E)on the roof there were about 3,000 men and women, who looked on while Samson entertained.
28 Then Samson called to the Lord and said, “O Lord God, (F)please remember me and please strengthen me only this once, O God, that I may be avenged on the Philistines for my two eyes.” 29 And Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and he leaned his weight against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other. 30 And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” Then he bowed with all his strength, and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life.
