⁵² Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard,^(A) and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs?

⁴ And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard^(A) and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.

²⁶ At that, the captain went with his officers and brought the apostles. They did not use force, because they feared that the people^(A) would stone them.

⁴⁸ “Am I leading a rebellion,” said Jesus, “that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? ⁴⁹ Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts,^(A) and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”^(B)

¹⁵ Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of units of a hundred, who were in charge of the troops: “Bring her out between the ranks^[a] and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the temple^(A) of the Lord.”
