¹⁷ Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves,

¹⁹ Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

⁴ For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, provided it is received with thanksgiving,^{(A) 5} for it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.

⁶ Those who observe the day, observe it for the Lord. Also those who eat, eat for the Lord, since they give thanks to God, while those who abstain, abstain for the Lord and give thanks to God.^(A)

¹⁶ And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and blessed and broke them and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.^(A)

⁷ No one shall break bread^[a] for the mourner, to offer comfort for the dead, nor shall anyone give them the cup of consolation to drink for their fathers or their mothers.^(A)

¹⁰ You shall eat your fill and bless the Lord your God for the good land that he has given you.^(A)

¹³ As soon as you enter the town, you will meet him before he goes up to the shrine to eat. For the people will not eat until he comes, since he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those eat who are invited. Now go up, for you will meet him immediately.”
