⁸ And he said, ^(A)“See that you are not led astray. For ^(B)many will come in my name, saying, ^(C)‘I am he!’ and, ^(D)‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.

Test the Spirits

4 Beloved, ^(A)do not believe every spirit, but ^(B)test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for ^(C)many ^(D)false prophets ^(E)have gone out into the world.

^3 (A)Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, ^(B)unless the rebellion comes first, and ^(C)the man of lawlessness^[a] is revealed, ^(D)the son of destruction,^[b]

^6 (A)Let no one ^(B)deceive you with empty words, for because of these things ^(C)the wrath of God comes upon ^(D)the sons of disobedience.

⁵ And Jesus began to say to them, ^(A)“See that no one leads you astray. ^6 (B)Many will come in my name, saying, ^(C)‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.

²¹ And ^(A)then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. ^22 (B)For false christs and false prophets will arise and ^(C)perform signs and wonders, ^(D)to lead astray, if possible, ^(E)the elect. ²³ But ^(F)be on guard; ^(G)I have told you all things beforehand.

¹¹ And many ^(A)false prophets will arise ^(B)and lead many astray.

⁴ And Jesus answered them, ^(A)“See that no one leads you astray. ⁵ For ^(B)many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am ^(C)the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.

¹³ while ^(A)evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and ^(B)being deceived.
