¹³ And so you will bear testimony to me.^(A)

⁵ All this is evidence^(A) that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy^(B) of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

Paul’s Chains Advance the Gospel

¹² Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters,^[a] that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.

³ so that no one would be unsettled by these trials.^(A) For you know quite well that we are destined for them.^{(B) 4} In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know.^(C)

²⁸ without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God.
