21 And He looked up ^(B)and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury,

The Widow’s Two Mites^(A)

^41 (B)Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money ^(C)into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. ⁴² Then one poor widow came and threw in two ^[a]mites, which make a ^[b]quadrans. ⁴³ So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that ^(D)this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; ⁴⁴ for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, ^(E)her whole livelihood.”

²⁰ These words Jesus spoke in ^(A)the treasury, as He taught in the temple; and ^(B)no one laid hands on Him, for ^(C)His hour had not yet come.

⁶ But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood.”

^18 (A)And all the articles from the house of God, great and small, the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king and of his leaders, all these he took to Babylon.

The Captivity of Jerusalem

^13 (A)And he carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house, and he ^(B)cut in pieces all the articles of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lord, ^(C)as the Lord had said.

^13 (A)And I appointed as treasurers over the storehouse Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah; and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were considered ^(B)faithful, and their task was to distribute to their brethren.

¹⁹ But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are ^[a]consecrated to the Lord; they ^[b]shall come into the treasury of the Lord.”

¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, ^(A)“Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban”—’ (that is, a gift to God), ¹² then you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother, ¹³ making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”
