Luke 20:41-44

⁴¹^(A)But he said to them, “How can they say that ^(B)the Christ is ^(C)David's son? ⁴²For David himself says in the Book of Psalms,

^(D)“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
⁴³ until I make your enemies ^(E)your footstool.”’

⁴⁴David thus calls him Lord, so ^(F)how is he his son?”

⁴¹Then he asked them, “How can people^[a] say that the Messiah^[b] is David’s son? ⁴²Because David himself in the book of Psalms says,

‘The Lord^[c] told my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
⁴³until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’^[d]

⁴⁴So David calls him ‘Lord.’ Then how can he be his son?”
