²¹ Then they asked Him, saying, ^(A)“Teacher, we know that You say and teach rightly, and You do not show personal favoritism, but teach the way of God in truth:

⁴ But as ^(A)we have been approved by God ^(B)to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, ^(C)not as pleasing men, but God ^(D)who tests our hearts. ⁵ For ^(E)neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a ^[a]cloak for covetousness—^(F)God is witness.

¹⁶ And they sent to Him their disciples with the ^(A)Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not ^[a]regard the person of men.

⁶ But from those ^(A)who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; ^(B)God ^[a]shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something ^(C)added nothing to me.

¹⁰ For ^(A)do I now ^(B)persuade men, or God? Or ^(C)do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

¹⁷ For we are not, as ^[a]so many, ^(A)peddling^[b] the word of God; but as ^(B)of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

Preaching to Cornelius’ Household

³⁴ Then Peter opened his mouth and said: ^(A)“In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. ³⁵ But ^(B)in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is ^(C)accepted by Him.

^2 (A)This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for ^(B)no one can do these signs that You do unless ^(C)God is with him.”

¹⁴ When they had come, they said to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and ^[a]care about no one; for You do not ^[b]regard the person of men, but teach the ^(A)way of God in truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
