¹⁹ And the chief priests and the scribes that very hour sought to lay hands on Him, but they ^[a]feared the people—for they knew He had spoken this parable against them.

⁴⁷ And He ^(A)was teaching daily in the temple. But ^(B)the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, ⁴⁸ and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to ^(C)hear Him.

¹⁴ But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the ^(A)heir. Come, ^(B)let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ^(C)ours.’

^12 (A)And they sought to lay hands on Him, but feared the multitude, for they knew He had spoken the parable against them. So they left Him and went away.

^3 (A)Then the chief priests, ^[a]the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ and ^(B)plotted to take Jesus by ^[b]trickery and kill Him.

⁴⁵ Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they ^[a]perceived that He was speaking of them. ⁴⁶ But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they ^(A)feared the multitudes, because ^(B)they took Him for a prophet.
