³⁸ Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.^(A)

²⁵ Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout.^(A) He was waiting for the consolation of Israel,^(B) and the Holy Spirit was on him.

¹⁵ Thanks be to God^(A) for his indescribable gift!^(B)

²¹ but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.^(A) And what is more, it is the third day^(B) since all this took place.

⁴³ Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council,^(A) who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God,^(B) went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.

Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ

³ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,^(A) who has blessed us in the heavenly realms^(B) with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
