2 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

3 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was ruler of Galilee, and his brother Philip ruler of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias ruler of Abilene,^(A)

¹⁴ And this good news^[a] of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.^(A)

²² All the saints greet you, especially those of the emperor’s household.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the world.^(A)

²¹ But when Paul had appealed to be kept in custody for the decision of his Imperial Majesty, I ordered him to be held until I could send him to the emperor.”^(A)

²⁸ One of them named Agabus stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine over all the world, and this took place during the reign of Claudius.^(A)

¹⁵ And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news^[a] to the whole creation.

⁹ Truly I tell you, wherever the good news^[a] is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in remembrance of her.”
