Jesús y Zaqueo
19 Jesús entró en Jericó, y comenzó a cruzar la ciudad. 2 Mientras caminaba, un hombre rico llamado Zaqueo, que era jefe de los cobradores de impuestos, 3 trataba de ver quién era Jesús, pero por causa de la multitud no podía hacerlo, pues era de baja estatura. 4 Pero rápidamente se adelantó y, para verlo, se trepó a un árbol, pues Jesús iba a pasar por allí. 5 Cuando Jesús llegó a ese lugar, levantó la vista y le dijo: «Zaqueo, apúrate y baja de allí, porque hoy tengo que pasar la noche en tu casa.» 6 Zaqueo bajó de prisa, y con mucho gusto recibió a Jesús. 7 Todos, al ver esto, murmuraban, pues decían que Jesús había entrado en la casa de un pecador. 8 Pero Zaqueo se puso de pie y le dijo al Señor: «Señor, voy a dar ahora mismo la mitad de mis bienes a los pobres. Y si en algo he defraudado a alguien, le devolveré cuatro veces más lo defraudado.» 9 Jesús le dijo: «Hoy ha llegado la salvación a esta casa, pues este hombre también es hijo de Abrahán. 10 Porque el Hijo del Hombre vino a buscar y a salvar lo que se había perdido.»(A)
Parábola de los siervos
11 Al escuchar la gente estas cosas, Jesús les contó una parábola, pues ya estaba cerca de Jerusalén y la gente pensaba que el reino de Dios estaba por manifestarse. 12 Jesús les dijo: «Un hombre de alto rango se fue a un país lejano, para recibir un reino y luego volver. 13 Antes de partir, llamó a diez de sus siervos, les dio una buena cantidad de dinero,[a] y les dijo: “Hagan negocio con este dinero, hasta que yo vuelva.” 14 Pero sus conciudadanos lo odiaban, y enviaron tras él unos representantes para que dijeran: “No queremos que éste reine sobre nosotros.” 15 Cuando ese hombre volvió, después de recibir el reino, hizo comparecer ante él a los siervos a quienes había dado el dinero, para saber qué negocios había hecho cada uno. 16 Cuando llegó el primero, dijo: “Señor, tu dinero ha producido diez veces más”. 17 Aquel hombre dijo: “¡Bien hecho! Eres un buen siervo. Puesto que en lo poco has sido fiel, vas a gobernar diez ciudades.” 18 Otro más llegó y le dijo: “Señor, tu dinero ha producido cinco veces más.” 19 Y también a éste le dijo: “Tú vas a gobernar cinco ciudades.” 20 Llegó otro más, y le dijo: “Señor, aquí tienes tu dinero. Lo he tenido envuelto en un pañuelo, 21 pues tuve miedo de ti, porque sé que eres un hombre duro, que tomas lo que no pusiste, y recoges lo que no sembraste.” 22 Entonces aquel hombre le dijo: “¡Mal siervo! Por tus propias palabras voy a juzgarte. Si sabías que soy un hombre duro, que tomo lo que no puse, y que recojo lo que no sembré, 23 ¿por qué no pusiste mi dinero en el banco? Así, ¡a mi regreso lo habría recibido con los intereses!” 24 Y dijo entonces a los que estaban presentes: “¡Quítenle el dinero, y dénselo al que ganó diez veces más!” 25 Pero ellos objetaron: “Señor, ése ya tiene mucho dinero.” 26 Y aquel hombre dijo: “Pues al que tiene, se le da más; pero al que no tiene, aun lo poco que tiene se le quita.(B) 27 Y en cuanto a mis enemigos, los que no querían que yo fuera su rey, ¡tráiganlos y decapítenlos delante de mí!”»(C)
La entrada triunfal en Jerusalén(D)
28 Después de decir esto, Jesús siguió su camino en dirección a Jerusalén. 29 Cuando ya estaba cerca de Betfagué y de Betania, junto al monte que se llama de los Olivos, les dijo a dos de sus discípulos: 30 «Vayan a la aldea que está ante ustedes. Al entrar en ella, van a encontrar atado un burrito, sobre el cual nadie se ha montado. Desátenlo y tráiganlo aquí. 31 Si alguien les pregunta: “¿Por qué lo desatan?”, respondan: “Porque el Señor lo necesita.”» 32 Los discípulos se fueron y encontraron todo tal y como él les había dicho. 33 Mientras desataban el burrito, sus dueños les dijeron: «¿Por qué lo desatan?» 34 Y ellos contestaron: «Porque el Señor lo necesita.» 35 Luego se lo llevaron a Jesús, echaron sus mantos sobre el burrito, e hicieron montar a Jesús. 36 Conforme Jesús avanzaba, la multitud tendía sus mantos por el camino. 37 Cuando se acercó a la bajada del monte de los Olivos, todo el conjunto de sus discípulos comenzó a gritar de alegría y a alabar a Dios por todas las maravillas que habían visto; 38 y decían: «¡Bendito el rey que viene en el nombre del Señor!(E) ¡Paz en el cielo, y gloria en las alturas!» 39 Algunos de los fariseos que iban entre la multitud le dijeron: «Maestro, ¡reprende a tus discípulos!» 40 Pero Jesús les dijo: «Si éstos callaran, las piedras clamarían.»
41 Ya cerca de la ciudad, Jesús lloró al verla, 42 y dijo: «¡Ah, si por lo menos hoy pudieras saber lo que te puede traer paz! Pero eso ahora está oculto a tus ojos. 43 Porque van a venir sobre ti días, cuando tus enemigos levantarán un cerco a tu alrededor, y te sitiarán. 44 Y te destruirán por completo, a ti y a tus hijos dentro de ti, y no dejarán en ti piedra sobre piedra, por cuanto no te diste cuenta del momento en que Dios vino a visitarte.»
Purificación del templo(F)
45 Después Jesús entró en el templo, y comenzó a echar de allí a todos los que vendían y compraban. 46 Les decía: «Escrito está: “Mi casa es casa de oración.”(G) ¡Pero ustedes han hecho de ella una cueva de ladrones!»(H) 47 Todos los días Jesús enseñaba en el templo,(I) pero los principales sacerdotes, los escribas y los principales del pueblo procuraban matarlo. 48 Sin embargo, no hallaban la manera de hacerlo, pues todo el pueblo estaba pendiente de lo que él decía.

3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

Jesus Comes to Zacchaeus’ House
19 Then Jesus entered and passed through (A)Jericho. 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to (B)see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up [a]and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, [b]make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6 So he [c]made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. 7 But when they saw it, they all [d]complained, saying, (C)“He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”
8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the (D)poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by (E)false accusation, (F)I restore fourfold.”
9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because (G)he also is (H)a son of Abraham; 10 (I)for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
The Parable of the Minas(J)
11 Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because (K)they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. 12 (L)Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten [e]minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ 14 (M)But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’
15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ 17 And he said to him, (N)‘Well done, good servant; because you were (O)faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ 19 Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’
20 “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. 21 (P)For I feared you, because you are [f]an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 And he said to him, (Q)‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. (R)You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. 23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’

The Triumphal Entry(T)
28 When He had said this, (U)He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29 (V)And it came to pass, when He drew near to [g]Bethphage and (W)Bethany, at the mountain called (X)Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, 30 saying, “Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. 31 And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you loosing it?’ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’ ”
32 So those who were sent went their way and found it just (Y)as He had said to them. 33 But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?”
34 And they said, “The Lord has need of him.” 35 Then they brought him to Jesus. (Z)And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. 36 And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road.
37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to (AA)rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying:
(AB)“ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’
(AC)Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
39 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”
40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, (AD)the stones would immediately cry out.”
Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem
41 Now as He drew near, He saw the city and (AE)wept over it, 42 saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this (AF)your day, the things that (AG)make for your (AH)peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43 For days will come upon you when your enemies will (AI)build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, 44 (AJ)and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and (AK)they will not leave in you one stone upon another, (AL)because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
Jesus Cleanses the Temple(AM)
45 (AN)Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who [h]bought and sold in it, 46 saying to them, “It is written, (AO)‘My house [i]is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a (AP)‘den of thieves.’ ”
47 And He (AQ)was teaching daily in the temple. But (AR)the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, 48 and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to (AS)hear Him.
