⁹ And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since ^(A)he also is a son of Abraham.

⁷ Know then that it is ^(A)those of faith who are ^(B)the sons of Abraham.

¹⁶ And ought not this woman, ^(A)a daughter of Abraham whom ^(B)Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

¹⁶ That is why it depends on faith, ^(A)in order that the promise may rest on grace and ^(B)be guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, ^(C)who is the father of us all,

³⁰ Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, ^(A)what must I do to be ^(B)saved?” ³¹ And they said, ^(C)“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you ^(D)and your household.” ³² And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

^10 (A)Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

²⁹ And ^(A)if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, ^(B)heirs according to promise.

¹⁴ so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might ^(A)come to the Gentiles, so that ^(B)we might receive ^(C)the promised Spirit^[a] through faith.

^11 (A)He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was ^(B)to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well, ¹² and to make him the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

³⁸ I sent you to reap ^(A)that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, ^(B)and you have entered into their labor.”

³⁹ Many Samaritans ^(C)from that town believed in him ^(D)because of ^(E)the woman's testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” ⁴⁰ So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. ⁴¹ And many more believed ^(F)because of his word. ⁴² They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, ^(G)and we know that this is indeed ^(H)the Savior ^(I)of the world.”
