⁴⁴ They will crush you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave within you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”^[a](A)

⁶ “As for these things that you see, the days will come when not one stone will be left upon another; all will be thrown down.”^(A)

³⁴ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!^{(A) 35} See, your house is left to you.^[a] And I tell you, you will not see me until the time comes when^[b] you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.’ ”^(B)

¹² Conduct yourselves honorably among the gentiles, so that, though they malign you as evildoers, they may see your honorable deeds and glorify God when he comes to judge.^[a](A)

² Then he asked them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly I tell you, not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down.”^(A)

²⁴ “Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and your holy city: to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.^[a](A)

¹⁸ Those who believe in him are not condemned, but those who do not believe are condemned already because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God.^{(A) 19} And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.^{(B) 20} For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed.^{(C) 21} But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.”^[a](D)

⁴² saying, “If you, even you, had only recognized on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
