Luke 18:31-34

31 (A)Now He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, (B)we are going up to Jerusalem, and (C)all the things that have been written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. 32 (D)For He will be [a]handed over to the Gentiles, and will be ridiculed, and abused, and spit upon, 33 and after they have flogged Him, they will kill Him; and on the third day He will rise.” 34 [b](E)The disciples understood none of these things, and the meaning of this statement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said.

31 And taking the twelve, he said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written of the Son of man by the prophets will be accomplished. 32 For he will be delivered to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon; 33 they will scourge him and kill him, and on the third day he will rise.” 34 But they understood none of these things; this saying was hid from them, and they did not grasp what was said.
