³⁷ They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth^[a] is passing by.”

²³ There he made his home in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, “He will be called a Nazarene.”^[a](A)

² For he says,

Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation!^(A)

¹⁰ let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that this man is standing before you in good health by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,^[a] whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead.^(A)

²² “Fellow Israelites,^[a] listen to what I have to say: Jesus of Nazareth,^[b] a man attested to you by God with deeds of power, wonders, and signs that God did through him among you, as you yourselves know^(A)—

¹⁹ Pilate also had an inscription written and put on the cross. It read, “Jesus of Nazareth,^[a] the King of the Jews.”

³⁵ Jesus said to them, “The light is in you^[a] for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going. ³⁶ While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.”

The Unbelief of the People

After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.^(A)

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.”^(A)

⁵¹ Then he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them, and his mother treasured all these things in her heart.^(A)

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

2 When he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. ² So many gathered around that there was no longer room for them, not even in front of the door, and he was speaking the word to them.^{(A) 3} Then some people^[a] came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.^(B)
