²³ and in ^(A)Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and ^(B)saw Abraham far off and Lazarus ^(C)at his side.

⁴ For if God did not spare ^(A)angels when they sinned, but ^(B)cast them into hell^[a] and committed them to chains^[b] of gloomy darkness ^(C)to be kept until the judgment;

¹⁰ he also will drink ^(A)the wine of God's wrath, ^(B)poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and ^(C)he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. ¹¹ And ^(D)the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and ^(E)they have no rest, day or night, these ^(F)worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

²⁸ for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’

³³ You serpents, ^(A)you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to ^(B)hell?

^9 (A)And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the ^(B)hell^[a] of fire.

¹¹ I tell you, ^(A)many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, ^12 (B)while the sons of the kingdom ^(C)will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place ^(D)there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, ^(A)Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, ^(B)according to what they had done. ¹⁴ Then ^(C)Death and Hades ^(D)were thrown into the lake of fire. This is ^(E)the second death, the lake of fire.
