The Parable of the Lost Drachma

“Or what woman, if she has ten [a]drachmas and loses one [b]drachma, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the [c]drachma which I had lost!’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is joy (A)in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

When she finds it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me because I’ve found my lost coin.’ 10  In the same way, I tell you, joy breaks out in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who changes both heart and life.”
