²³ Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there ^(A)few who are saved?”

And He said to them,

^14 [a]Because narrow is the gate and ^[b]difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

^14 (A)“For many are called, but few are chosen.”

²¹ Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?”

²² Jesus said to him, “If I ^[a]will that he remain ^(A)till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”

The Parable of the Rich Fool

¹³ Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

¹⁴ But He said to him, ^(A)“Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” ¹⁵ And He said to them, ^(B)“Take heed and beware of ^[a]covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

^16 (A)So the last will be first, and the first last. ^(B)For^[a] many are called, but few chosen.”

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age^(A)

³ Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, ^(B)the disciples came to Him privately, saying, ^(C)“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them: ^(D)“Take heed that no one deceives you. ⁵ For ^(E)many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ ^(F)and will deceive many.

⁷ And He said to them, ^(A)“It is not for you to ^(B)know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. ^8 (C)But you shall receive power ^(D)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and ^(E)you shall be ^[a]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and ^(F)Samaria, and to the ^(G)end of the earth.”

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age^(A)

⁷ So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?”

⁸ And He said: ^(B)“Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ ^[a]Therefore do not ^[b]go after them.
