¹⁶ So ought not this woman, ^(A)being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”

⁸ Therefore bear fruits ^(A)worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

²⁷ And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the ^(A)Sabbath.

²⁶ and that they may come to their senses and ^(A)escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

²⁶ “Men and brethren, sons of the ^[a]family of Abraham, and ^(A)those among you who fear God, ^(B)to you the ^[b]word of this salvation has been sent.

^44 (A)You are of your father the devil, and the ^(B)desires of your father you want to ^(C)do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and ^(D)does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

⁹ And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because ^(A)he also is ^(B)a son of Abraham;

¹¹ And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way ^[a]raise herself up. ¹² But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your ^(A)infirmity.”

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, ^[a]“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ^(A)‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
