^24 (A)Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. ^(B)Of how much more value are you than the birds!

³¹ Fear not, therefore; ^(A)you are of more value than many sparrows.

⁷ Why, ^(A)even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; ^(B)you are of more value than many sparrows.

Elijah Predicts a Drought

17 Now Elijah the Tishbite, of ^(A)Tishbe^[a] in Gilead, said to Ahab, ^(B)“As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, ^(C)before whom I stand, ^(D)there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.” ² And the word of the Lord came to him: ³ “Depart from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. ⁴ You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” ⁵ So he went and did according to the word of the Lord. He went and lived by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan. ⁶ And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

³⁰ For ^(A)all the nations of the world seek after these things, and ^(B)your Father knows that you need them. ³¹ Instead, ^(C)seek ^(D)his^[a] kingdom, ^(E)and these things will be added to you.

^32 (F)“Fear not, little ^(G)flock, for ^(H)it is your Father's good pleasure to give you ^(I)the kingdom.
