An Unclean Spirit’s Return
24 “When(A) an unclean spirit(B) comes out of a person, it roams through waterless places looking for rest,(C) and not finding rest, it then[a] says, ‘I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ 25 Returning, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings seven other spirits(D) more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that person’s last condition is worse than the first.”(E)

But when it finds none, it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from.’ 25 So it returns and finds that its former home is all swept and in order. 26 Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before.”
