⁴⁹ Therefore the wisdom of God also said, ^(A)‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’

³⁰ But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and ^(A)righteousness and sanctification and redemption—

^3 (A)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

¹¹ And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

²⁴ From the Jews five times I received ^(A)forty ^(B)stripes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was ^(C)beaten with rods; ^(D)once I was stoned; three times I ^(E)was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;

²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ ^(A)the power of God and ^(B)the wisdom of God.

^10 (A)This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority ^(B)from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them. ^11 (C)And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

^20 (A)And when the blood of Your martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by ^(B)consenting ^[a]to his death, and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.’
