^39 (A)Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but ^(B)your inward part is full of ^[a]greed and wickedness.

^8 (A)Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. ^(B)Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and ^(C)purify your hearts, you double-minded.

^15 (A)To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.

²¹ You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your ^(A)heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God ^(B)if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. ²³ For I see that you are ^(C)poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

^3 (A)But Peter said, “Ananias, why has ^(B)Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

^19 (A)For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

^15 (B)“Beware of false prophets, ^(C)who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

⁵ Then ^[a]the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every ^(A)intent^[b] of the thoughts of his heart was only evil ^[c]continually.
