²¹ When ^[a]a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are ^[b]secure. ²² But when someone stronger than he attacks him and overpowers him, that man takes away his armor on which he had relied and distributes his plunder. ^23 (A)The one who is not with Me is against Me; and the one who does not gather with Me scatters.

³⁵ And He said to them, “^(A)When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.” ³⁶ And He said to them, “But now, ^[a]whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and ^[b]whoever has no sword is to sell his ^[c]cloak and buy one. ³⁷ For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me: ‘^(B)And He was counted with wrongdoers’; for ^(C)that which refers to Me has its ^[d]fulfillment.” ³⁸ They said, “Lord, look, here are two ^(D)swords.” And He said to them, “It is enough.”
