Instruction about Prayer

11 It happened that while ^[a]Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.” ² And He said to them, “^(A)When you pray, say:

¹⁵ For you ^(A)have not received a spirit of slavery ^[a]leading to fear again, but you ^(B)have received ^[b]a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “^(C)Abba! ^[c]Father!”

⁶ Because you are sons, ^(A)God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “^(B)Abba! ^[a]Father!”

18 ^(A)At that ^[a]time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “^(B)Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” ² And He called a child to Himself and set him among them, ³ and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you ^[b]change and ^(C)become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ So whoever will humble himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
