The Seventy Sent Out

10 Now after this (A)the Lord appointed [a]seventy (B)others, and sent them (C)in pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come. And He was saying to them, (D)The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go! (E)Behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. (F)Carry no money belt, no bag, no sandals, and greet no one on the way. Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’ And if a [b]man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him, but if not, it will return to you. Stay in [c]that house, eating and drinking [d]what they give you; for (G)the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. And whatever city you enter and they receive you, (H)eat what is set before you; and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘(I)The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But in whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11 (J)Even the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off against you; yet know this, that (K)the kingdom of God is at hand.’ 12 I say to you, (L)it will be more tolerable in that day for (M)Sodom than for that city.

The Seventy Sent Out

10 After these things the Lord appointed [a]seventy others also, and (A)sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, (B)“The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore (C)pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your way; (D)behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. (E)Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and (F)greet no one along the road. (G)But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you. (H)And remain in the same house, (I)eating and drinking such things as they give, for (J)the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. (K)And heal the sick there, and say to them, (L)‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11 (M)‘The very dust of your city which clings to [b]us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’ 12 [c]But I say to you that (N)it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.
