⁵ Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’^(A)

⁶ Thus you shall salute him, ‘Peace be to you, and peace be to your house, and peace be to all that you have.^(A)

¹² As you enter the house, greet it. ¹³ If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

¹⁷ So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near,

¹⁸ All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation;^{(A) 19} that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself,^[a] not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.^{(B) 20} So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ: be reconciled to God.^(C)

⁹ Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.^(A)

³⁶ You know the message he sent to the people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all.^(A)
