Mary and Martha Worship and Serve

³⁸Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named ^(A)Martha welcomed Him into her house. ³⁹And she had a sister called Mary, ^(B)who also ^(C)sat at ^[a]Jesus’ feet and heard His word. ⁴⁰But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

⁴¹And ^[b]Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. ⁴²But ^(D)one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

11 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

²So He said to them, “When you pray, say:

^(F)Our^[c] Father ^[d]in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
^[e]Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
³Give us day by day our daily bread.
⁴And ^(G)forgive us our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
^[f]But deliver us from the evil one.”
