The Mission of the Seventy
10 After this the Lord appointed seventy[a] others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go. 2 He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!’ 6 And if anyone is there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you. 7 Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever they provide, for the laborer deserves to be paid. Do not move about from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and its people welcome you, eat what is set before you; 9 cure the sick who are there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’[b] 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off in protest against you. Yet know this: the kingdom of God has come near.’[c] 12 I tell you, on that day it will be more tolerable for Sodom than for that town.
Woes to Unrepentant Cities
13 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the deeds of power done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But at the judgment it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum,
will you be exalted to heaven?
No, you will be brought down to Hades.

Ecco, io vi mando come agnelli in mezzo ai lupi. 4 Non portate né borsa, né sacca, né calzari, e non salutate nessuno per via. 5 In qualunque casa entriate, dite prima: “Pace a questa casa!” 6 Se vi è lì un figlio di pace, la vostra pace riposerà su di lui; se no, ritornerà a voi. 7 Rimanete in quella stessa casa, mangiando e bevendo di quello che hanno, perché l’operaio è degno del suo salario[b]. Non passate di casa in casa. 8 In qualunque città entriate, se vi ricevono, mangiate ciò che vi sarà messo davanti, 9 guarite i malati che ci saranno e dite loro: “Il regno di Dio si è avvicinato a voi”. 10 Ma in qualunque città entriate, se non vi ricevono, uscite sulle piazze e dite: 11 “Perfino la polvere della vostra città che si è attaccata ai nostri piedi[c], noi la scuotiamo contro di voi; sappiate tuttavia questo, che il regno di Dio si è avvicinato a voi[d]”. 12 Io vi dico[e] che in quel giorno la sorte di Sodoma sarà più tollerabile di quella di tale città.

10 Danach aber bestimmte der Herr noch 70 andere und sandte sie je zwei und zwei vor sich her in alle Städte und Orte, wohin er selbst kommen wollte.
2 Er sprach nun zu ihnen: Die Ernte ist groß, aber es sind wenige Arbeiter. Darum bittet den Herrn der Ernte, dass er Arbeiter in seine Ernte sende!
3 Geht hin! Siehe, ich sende euch wie Lämmer mitten unter die Wölfe.
4 Tragt weder Beutel noch Tasche noch Schuhe und grüßt niemand auf dem Weg.
5 Wo ihr aber in ein Haus hineingeht, da sprecht zuerst: Friede diesem Haus!
6 Und wenn dort ein Sohn des Friedens ist, so wird euer Friede auf ihm ruhen, wenn aber nicht, so wird er zu euch zurückkehren.
7 In demselben Haus aber bleibt und esst und trinkt das, was man euch vorsetzt; denn der Arbeiter ist seines Lohnes wert. Geht nicht aus einem Haus ins andere.
8 Und wenn ihr in eine Stadt kommt und sie euch aufnehmen, da esst, was euch vorgesetzt wird;
9 und heilt die Kranken, die dort sind, und sagt zu ihnen: Das Reich Gottes ist nahe zu euch herbeigekommen!
10 Wenn ihr aber in eine Stadt kommt und sie euch nicht aufnehmen, da geht auf ihre Gassen hinaus und sprecht:
11 Auch den Staub, der sich aus eurer Stadt an uns gehängt hat, streifen wir ab gegen euch; doch sollt ihr wissen, dass das Reich Gottes nahe zu euch herbeigekommen ist!
12 Ich sage euch aber: Es wird Sodom an jenem Tag erträglicher gehen als dieser Stadt.
Das Wehe über die unbußfertigen Städte
13 Wehe dir, Chorazin! Wehe dir, Bethsaida! Denn wenn in Tyrus und Zidon die Wundertaten geschehen wären, die bei euch geschehen sind, so hätten sie längst in Sack und Asche sitzend Buße getan.
14 Doch es wird Tyrus und Zidon erträglicher gehen im Gericht als euch.
15 Und du, Kapernaum, die du bis zum Himmel erhöht worden bist, du wirst bis zum Totenreich hinabgeworfen werden!

10 Ezután az Úr kijelölt a tanítványai közül további hetvenkét[a] tanítványát, és kettesével elküldte őket azokba a városokba és helyekre, ahová menni szándékozott. 2 Ezzel küldte ki őket: „Látjátok, milyen sok az aratnivaló, és milyen kevés az aratómunkás! Imádkozzatok hát, és kérjétek az Aratás Urát, hogy küldjön még több aratót, hogy a gabonáját learassák! 3 Menjetek! Vigyázzatok, mert úgy küldelek ki benneteket, mint bárányokat a farkasok közé. 4 Ne vigyetek magatokkal pénzt, ennivalót vagy másik sarut, és útközben ne álljatok le beszélgetni!
5 Ha egy házba bementek, először ezt mondjátok: »Békesség ennek a családnak«! 6 Ha békeszerető ember lakik abban a házban, a békességetek megnyugszik rajta, ha nem, akkor a békesség visszaszáll rátok. 7 Maradjatok ugyanannál a háznál, azt egyétek és igyátok, amivel ott megkínálnak, mert a munkás megérdemli a bérét! Ne járjatok házról házra! 8 Ha olyan városba értek, ahol szívesen látnak titeket, fogadjátok el, amivel megkínálnak, és nyugodtan egyétek meg!
9 Gyógyítsátok meg a betegeiket, és hirdessétek nekik: »Megérkezett hozzátok Isten Királysága!« 10 Ha pedig valamelyik városban nem látnak szívesen, menjetek ki az utcára, és mondjátok: 11 »Még a városotok porát is lerázzuk a lábunkról![b] De azt tudjátok meg, hogy Isten Királysága megérkezett hozzátok!« 12 Mondom nektek: Sodoma lakóinak elviselhetőbb lesz a helyzete az ítélet napján, mint az ott lakóknak.”

10 Après cela, le Seigneur choisit encore soixante-douze[a] autres disciples et les envoya deux par deux, pour le précéder dans toutes les villes et les localités où il devait se rendre. 2 Il leur disait : La moisson est abondante, mais les ouvriers peu nombreux. Priez donc le Seigneur à qui appartient la moisson d’envoyer des ouvriers pour moissonner. 3 Allez : je vous envoie comme des agneaux au milieu des loups. 4 N’emportez ni bourse, ni sac de voyage, ni sandales, et ne vous attardez pas en chemin pour saluer les gens[b].
5 Lorsque vous entrerez dans une maison, dites d’abord : « Que la paix soit sur cette maison[c]. » 6 Si un homme de paix y habite, votre paix reposera sur lui. Si ce n’est pas le cas, elle reviendra à vous. 7 Restez dans cette maison-là, prenez la nourriture et la boisson que l’on vous donnera, car « l’ouvrier mérite son salaire ». Ne passez pas d’une maison à l’autre pour demander l’hospitalité.
8 Dans toute ville où vous irez et où l’on vous accueillera, mangez ce que l’on vous offrira, 9 guérissez les malades qui s’y trouveront et dites aux gens : « Le royaume de Dieu est proche de vous. » 10 Mais dans toute ville où vous entrerez et où l’on ne voudra pas vous recevoir, allez sur la place publique et dites : 11 « La poussière de votre ville qui s’est attachée à nos pieds, nous la secouons contre vous. Sachez pourtant ceci : le royaume de Dieu est proche. »

12 Je vous assure qu’au jour du jugement, Sodome sera traitée avec moins de rigueur que cette ville-là.
13 Malheur à toi, Chorazin[d] ! Malheur à toi, Bethsaïda ! car si les miracles qui se sont produits au milieu de vous avaient eu lieu à Tyr et à Sidon[e], il y a longtemps que leurs habitants auraient changé et l’auraient manifesté en revêtant des habits de toile de sac et en se couvrant de cendre[f]. 14 C’est pourquoi, au jour du jugement, ces villes seront traitées avec moins de rigueur que vous. 15 Et toi, Capernaüm, crois-tu que tu seras élevée jusqu’au ciel ? Non ! Tu seras précipitée au séjour des morts.
