²⁴ For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things you see yet didn’t see them; to hear the things you hear yet didn’t hear them.”^(A)

¹⁶ “The^(A) Law and the Prophets^(B) were^[a] until John; since then, the good news of the kingdom of God^(C) has been proclaimed, and everyone is strongly urged to enter it.^[b]

²⁹ “But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the prophets;^(A) they should listen to them.’

The Third Prediction of His Death

³¹ Then^(A) He took the Twelve aside and told them, “Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem.^(B) Everything that is written^(C) through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.^(D)

²⁵ He said to them, “How unwise and slow you are to believe in your hearts all that the prophets have spoken!^(A)

²⁷ Then beginning with Moses^(A) and all the Prophets,^(B) He interpreted for them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.^(C)

⁴⁴ Then He told them, “These are My words^(A) that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets,^(B) and the Psalms^(C) must be fulfilled.”
