¹⁶ They were all filled with awe^(A) and praised God.^(B) “A great prophet^(C) has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.”^(D)

³¹ and they believed.^(A) And when they heard that the Lord was concerned^(B) about them and had seen their misery,^(C) they bowed down and worshiped.^(D)

⁴⁸ and said, ‘Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who has allowed my eyes to see a successor^(A) on my throne today.’”

¹⁶ “Go, assemble the elders^(A) of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob^(B)—appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen^(C) what has been done to you in Egypt. ¹⁷ And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt^(D) into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.’^(E)
