⁴ so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.^(A)

³¹ But these are written that you may believe^[a](A) that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God,^(B) and that by believing you may have life in his name.^(C)

²⁵ He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor^[a](A) and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John.^(B)

⁶ Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.^(A)

¹⁹ But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.^(A)

¹⁵ And I will make every effort to see that after my departure^(A) you will always be able to remember these things.

¹⁶ For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power,^(B) but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.^(C)

¹⁸ if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law;
