³⁵ And the angel answered her, ^(A)“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of ^(B)the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born^[a] will be called ^(C)holy—^(D)the Son of God.

The Birth of Jesus Christ

¹⁸ Now the birth of ^(A)Jesus Christ^[a] took place in this way. ^(B)When his mother Mary had been betrothed^[b] to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child ^(C)from the Holy Spirit.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, ^(A)“Rabbi, ^(B)you are the Son of God! You are the ^(C)King of Israel!”

³⁴ And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son^[a] of God.”

⁴ and ^(A)was declared to be the Son of God ^(B)in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

³¹ And behold, ^(A)you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and ^(B)you shall call his name Jesus. ³² He will be great and will be called the Son of ^(C)the Most High. And the Lord God ^(D)will give to him the throne of ^(E)his father David,

^24 (A)“What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? ^(B)I know who you are—^(C)the Holy One of God.”

^54 (A)When the centurion and those who were with him, ^(B)keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, ^(C)“Truly this was the Son^[a] of God!”

^63 (A)But Jesus remained silent. ^(B)And the high priest said to him, ^(C)“I adjure you by ^(D)the living God, ^(E)tell us if you are ^(F)the Christ, ^(G)the Son of God.” ⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, ^(H)“You have said so. But I tell you, from now on ^(I)you will see the Son of Man ^(J)seated at the right hand of Power and ^(K)coming on the clouds of heaven.”
