7 Now Herod the ruler[a] heard about all that had taken place, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had been raised from the dead, 8 by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the ancient prophets had arisen. 9 Herod said, “John I beheaded; but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And he tried to see him.

He took them with him and withdrew privately to a city called Bethsaida. 11 When the crowds found out about it, they followed him; and he welcomed them, and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed to be cured.

7 Heródes fejedelem is hallott a történtekről. Zavarban volt, mert egyesek azt mondták, hogy Bemerítő János támadt fel a halálból. 8 Mások azt beszélték, hogy Illés próféta jelent meg. Mások szerint valamelyik régi próféta támadt fel. 9 Heródes azt mondta: „Bemerítő Jánost én fejeztettem le. De ki lehet ez, akiről ilyen dolgokat hallok?” — és azon volt, hogy láthassa Jézust.

7 Hérode, le gouverneur de la province, apprit tout ce qui se passait. Il était embarrassé. En effet, certains disaient : C’est Jean-Baptiste qui est ressuscité ! 8 D’autres disaient : C’est Elie qui a reparu. D’autres encore : C’est un des prophètes d’autrefois qui est revenu à la vie.
9 Mais Hérode se disait : Jean ? Je l’ai moi-même fait décapiter. Mais alors, qui est cet homme dont j’entends dire de si grandes choses ?
Et il cherchait à le rencontrer.
Avec cinq pains et deux poissons(B)
10 Les apôtres revinrent et racontèrent à Jésus tout ce qu’ils avaient fait. Il les prit alors avec lui et se retira à l’écart, du côté de la ville de Bethsaïda[a]. 11 Mais les foules s’en aperçurent et le suivirent. Jésus leur fit bon accueil, il leur parla du royaume de Dieu et guérit ceux qui en avaient besoin.
