Jesus Stills the Sea

22 (A)Now on one of those days [a]Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let’s cross over to the other side of (B)the lake.” So they launched out. 23 But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on (C)the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger. 24 They came up to Jesus and woke Him, saying, “(D)Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He got up and (E)rebuked the wind and the surging [b]waves, and they stopped, and [c]it became calm. 25 And He said to them, “Where is your faith?” But they were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?”

Calming of a Storm

22 Now it happened that on one of the days both he and his disciples got into a boat, and he said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they set sail, 23 and as[a] they were sailing, he fell asleep. And a storm of wind came down on the lake, and they were being swamped and were in danger. 24 And they came and[b] woke him up, saying, “Master, master! Jesus Calms the Storm(A)(B)

22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.

24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master,(C) we’re going to drown!”

He got up and rebuked(D) the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.(E) 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.

In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”
