³⁰ But the Pharisees and the ^(A)scholars of the Law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, not having been baptized by ^[a]John.

The Good Samaritan

^25 (A)And behold, a ^(B)scholar of the Law stood up and was putting Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

⁴⁵ Now one of the ^(A)scholars of the Law answered and said to Him, “Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us too.” ⁴⁶ But He said, “Woe to you ^(B)scholars of the Law as well! For ^(C)you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers.

⁵² Woe to you, ^(A)scholars of the Law! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; ^(B)you yourselves did not enter, and you hindered those who were entering.”

³ And Jesus answered and spoke to the ^(A)scholars of the Law and Pharisees, saying, “^(B)Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?”
