29 ((A)When all the people heard this, and (B)the tax collectors too, they declared God just,[a] (C)having been baptized with (D)the baptism of John, 30 (E)but the Pharisees and (F)the lawyers (G)rejected (H)the purpose of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.)
31 “To what then shall I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like?

29 (All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John.(A) 30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law(B) rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.)
