Luke 6:37-38
New International Version
Judging Others(A)
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.(B) Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.(C) 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.(D) For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”(E)
Romans 1:28-2:5
English Standard Version
28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, (A)God gave them up to (B)a debased mind to do (C)what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know (D)God's righteous decree that those who practice such things (E)deserve to die, they not only do them but (F)give approval to those who practice them.
God's Righteous Judgment
2 Therefore you have (G)no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For (H)in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. 2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. 3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you presume on (I)the riches of his kindness and (J)forbearance and (K)patience, (L)not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? 5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are (M)storing up (N)wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.
Romans 1:28-2:5
New International Version
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over(A) to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,(B) 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;(C) 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love,(D) no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death,(E) they not only continue to do these very things but also approve(F) of those who practice them.
God’s Righteous Judgment
2 You, therefore, have no excuse,(G) you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.(H) 2 Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches(I) of his kindness,(J) forbearance(K) and patience,(L) not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?(M)
5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath(N), when his righteous judgment(O) will be revealed.
