25 Woe to you who are well fed now,
    for you will go hungry.(A)
Woe to you who laugh now,
    for you will mourn and weep.(B)
26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
    for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.(C)

Love for Enemies(D)

27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,(E) 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.(F) 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.(G) 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.(H)

32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?(I) Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.

29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
