22 “Blessed are you when (A)people hate you and when they (B)exclude you and revile you and (C)spurn your name as evil, (D)on account of the Son of Man! 23 (E)Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for (F)so their fathers did to the prophets.
Jesus Pronounces Woes
24 (G)“But woe to you who are rich, (H)for you (I)have received your consolation.
25 “Woe to you who are full now, for (J)you shall be hungry.
“Woe to (K)you who laugh now, (L)for you shall mourn and weep.
26 “Woe to you, (M)when all people speak well of you, for (N)so their fathers did to (O)the false prophets.
Love Your Enemies
27 “But I say to you who hear, (P)Love your enemies, (Q)do good to those who hate you, 28 (R)bless those who curse you, (S)pray for those who abuse you. 29 (T)To one who (U)strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic[a] either. 30 (V)Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. 31 And (W)as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
32 (X)“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And (Y)if you (Z)lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. 35 But (AA)love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and (AB)you will be sons of (AC)the Most High, for (AD)he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. 36 (AE)Be merciful, even as (AF)your Father is merciful.
Judging Others
37 (AG)(AH)“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; (AI)forgive, and you will be forgiven; 38 (AJ)give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put (AK)into your lap. For (AL)with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
39 He also told them a parable: (AM)“Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40 (AN)A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is (AO)fully trained will be like his teacher. 41 (AP)Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but (AQ)do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.
A Tree and Its Fruit
43 “For (AR)no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 44 for (AS)each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. 45 (AT)The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces (AU)evil, (AV)for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Build Your House on the Rock
46 (AW)“Why (AX)do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? 47 (AY)Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.[b] 49 (AZ)But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and (BA)the ruin of that house was great.”

for you have already received your comfort.(G)
25 Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.(H)
Woe to you who laugh now,

26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.(J)
Love for Enemies(K)
27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,(L) 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.(M) 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.(N) 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.(O)
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?(P) Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?(Q) Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them,(R) and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children(S) of the Most High,(T) because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful,(U) just as your Father(V) is merciful.

39 He also told them this parable: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit?(AB) 40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.(AC)
41 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
A Tree and Its Fruit(AD)
43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit.(AE) People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. 45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.(AF)
The Wise and Foolish Builders(AG)
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’(AH) and do not do what I say?(AI) 47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice,(AJ) I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
